10/25/14 Blue Ocean Music Hall, Salisbury, MA

Dear Blue Ocean Ticket holders and SAB fans,

We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate rescheduling of the Blue Ocean Music Hall show.

Just shy of 2 weeks prior to the event, the promoters and venue felt it best to move the date to a later time because they were unable to secure radio spots to properly advertise the event.

We can only imagine the disappointment to our fans and we're deeply sorry if we've caused any hardship and inconvenience in the matter. No one was more disappointed then myself and the rest of the band.

We do however look forward to securing a date in the warmer months, preferably during the summer vacation time frame so that we might take advantage of the beautiful New England shoreline and enjoy everything Salisbury Beach has to offer.

Again, please accept our absolute sincerest apology and we hope to see you all in the summer of '15!

Steve A.

FACES

Faces
(Augeri / DeRossi)

Love is the diamond that grabs the light
Sends it back in many different ways, oh yeah
Love is the reason we walk the night
Searching for a weakness in our prey, oh yeah
Guess it's time I learn to read the Faces…

Of love
Of love
My love

She shows no emotion that I can see
Nothing that her eyes could give away, oh no
She's known the game, yeah she always plays
And if I'm holding Kings then she has Aces, oh no
I think it's time I learn to read the Faces…

Of love
I've been going through so many changes
My love
I've been going through so many changes
oh yeah, yeah now.

(Mustang!)

I've been going through so many changes
My Love
I've been going through so many phases
Of Love
I think it's time I learn to read the Faces
Of love
Of love
My Love
Now, my Love…
Of Love now...
I think it's times to read...
To read the Faces

FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE

Tell me Baby
What's on your mind?
Thoughts of the hopeless
So hard to define

Love, it's a blessing
You soon will find
A promise we both can share
Just all in good time, oh...

You know that we can't erase
A page in a story left untold
When shadows fall
Memories unfold

Oh.... For the rest of my life
I will be holding on
Through the darkness and light
We'll rise above it all
At the end of the day
The promise of love stood tall
From the love that we made

Halfway baby,
Let's compromise
Put an end to this foolish game
It's just you and I

I'll be waiting
Until that time
My hopeless romantic ways
Have served me just fine, oh

Only the lonely
Facing whatever fears we hold
We'll rise above
And get through it all, oh

Oh.... For the rest of my life
I will be holding on
Through the darkness and light
We'll rise above it all
At the end of the day
The promise of love stood tall
From the love that we made

Let your heart remember
Let the heart recall
You know it's only love now after all...

Oh.... For the rest of my life
I will be holding on
Through the darkness and light
We'll rise above it all
At the end of the day
The promise of love stood strong
From the love that we saved

Oh... For the rest of my life
Oh...
Oh... For the rest of my life
Oh

WELCOME HOME

Hi All,

Today I experienced what I or any singer or songwriter dreams of and aspires to but seldom achieves.

That is to be moved to tears, tears... by a singer and his or her song. The singer, Steve Perry, and the song penned by The Eels, "It's a Mother Fucker".

I am / was apprehensive of writing and expressing myself because there will be those who will perceive this to be either a kissing of the "tuckus" or… a show of disrespect to the gentleman who so successfully and beautifully followed us both, Arnel. They are neither, but a tribute to, and an acknowledgement of, an achievement that so many thought no longer obtainable.

This should be a lesson and an inspiration to us all. It certainly is to me.

Welcome home Mr. Perry.

Steve Augeri’s Different Journey

Steve Augeri’s Different Journey

Ten years ago, some friends and I at music school got free tickets to see Journey way out in San Bernadino, CA. We were prepared to be underwhelmed by ‘the new guy’ at the mic, and since we were more interested in guitars, we thought seeing Neal Schon (and Peter Frampton, opening the show) would make it all worth while.
As the show opened with a roaring ‘Any Way You Want It’, we became transfixed with this new singer who confidently commanded the whole show with incredible vocals and an easy swagger that Steve Perry’s prima donna persona never seemed to quite capture. What we saw was a guy who genuinely looked like he liked being in Journey, and was totally confident leading one of rock’s most successful acts. As he led Journey throughout the early 2000′s, he didn’t just do Steve Perry impersonations at the mic every night, he brought a brand new warmth and confidence to the live shows, the songwriting and the recorded work all at once. Songs like ‘All The Way’ and ‘Higher Place’ propelled a revitalized Journey into an arena-rock powerhouse once again.
All these years later, Steve Augeri has found his way back to the mic after a battle with paralyzed vocal chords, only this time, the sound is all his own. Free of Journey and Steve Perry comparisons, Augeri’s first single: ‘Riverside’, is a soulful mid-tempo rocker that has about as memorable a hook as you are likely to find. The well-crafted, organic feel of ‘Home Again’ is a stellar showcase for Augeri’s soaring vocals and expansive songwriting.
Surrounded by a stellar group of musicians, Augeri’s singing and songwriting is absolutely world-class. While the sound of Augeri’s gritty tenor might bring to mind his old gig, the lyrics and melodies are something completely outside his old Journey catalog. Layers of warmth in acoustic guitars and incisive keyboards create one great melodic hook after another. When Augeri hits the mic, it’s an absolute home-run.
While Journey soldiers on, Steve Augeri proves he’s not just a pinch-hitter for a great singer, but rather a superb vocalist and songwriter in his own right. As these individual tracks start to flesh out Augeri’s new album, you can see he’s definitely found a combination of laid-back and instantly arresting that you typically only find in the world’s greatest songwriters. Steve Augeri definitely is finding his place among them. You can check out his work at: steveaugeri.com.

TIN SOLDIER

TIN SOLDIER
(Augeri/Bergh/DeRossi)

My world as It turns
Has a hole in it's heart that's yearning
Crossfire's closing in
I've still a long way to go

And I can't quite hold that line
I'm all alone in a new world order
But I will be strong
And  I will fight on and love again

  All the Kings horses
  And all the Kings men
   Never put two hearts
  Together again now, but
  I will be strong
I will fight on and love again

Tin Soldier
Bleeds the heart of the Warrior
Tin Soldier
In the battle of love
But, I can't I'm only a man
Watch tower's flaming red
I  clear the smoke from another heart burning
Watch out as it burns
We're a long way from home

Well, I got down, duck my head
I dodge a bullet from another guns hatred
I have been wronged
But, I will live on to tell the tale
All the kings horses
And all the kings men
Never put two hearts
Together again now, but ...
I will be strong
I will fight on and love again

Tin Soldier
Bleeds the heart of a warrior
Tin Soldier
In The Battle For Love
If I could hold her
I could live through this torture
But, I can't I'm only a man
I will fight on
And as in all the rest
In every dream
My heart's at war
Tin Soldier
Bleeds the heart of a warrior
Tin soldier
In the battle for love
If I could hold her
I could live through this torture
But, I can't  I'm only a man

  Tin Soldier
Tin Soldier
If I could hold her
I could live through this torture
But, I can't I'm only a man
I will fight on

HOME AGAIN, (It's good to be…)

HOME AGAIN
(Steve Augeri)
IT’S BEEN SOME YEARS I LEFT THIS TOWN
I SEE THEY’VE TORN MY OLD SCHOOL DOWN
SAY IT AIN’T SO
SAY IT AIN’T SO

AND ON THE STREET WHERE SHE ONCE LIVED
THE STEPS WHERE I STOLE MY FIRST KISS
SO LONG AGO
SO LONG AGO

YOU THINK THAT WE’D BE BETTER
WE’D LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES
JUST ASSUME RETURN THAN STAY AWAY

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE
THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME
OH, IT’S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAIN

THE CARNIVALS AND STREET PARADES
WINTER NIGHTS AND SUMMER DAYS
SAY IT AIN’T SO
SO LONG AGO

A SMILE ON A FAMILIAR FACE
YEAH, IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY
BUT IT’S SO LONG AGO
SO LONG AGO

YOU WONDER WHY WE GO TO THE PLACE WHERE IT BEGAN
IT ISN’T VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE
THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME
OH, IT’S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAIN

MY MEMORIES, THEY’VE COME AND GONE
JUST LIKE EVERYTHING I’VE EVER KNOWN
SAY IT AIN’T SO
SAY IT AIN’T SO
IF WE CAN CHANGE THE FUTURE BY DIGGING UP THE PAST
MAYBE THEN THESE MEMORIES WILL LAST

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE
THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME
IT’S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAIN
IT’S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAIN
