You Must BE Fracking Kidding Me!

Greeting Earthlings,

Watched a pretty riveting documentary on HBO by the name of "Gasland". If you haven't seen it yet, check it out. Before they start "fracking" near my water supply, I'm gonna write my congressman to tell them to get the "Frack" Outta there:)

I have been ignorant of this issue up until this week. I don't have all the facts, but, if there's is any truth in what this documentary states, then we need to wake up and regulate the process of harvesting our natural resources (In this case, natural gas). And in a manor that does not jeopardize our health as well as our already suffering environment. All one has to do is turn on the TV, open a newspaper or boot up your computer find see the unfortunate occurrence in the Gulf of Mexico. Forget who's fault it is. Put an end to this disaster then move forward to make sure it don't reoccur. Now, perhaps you are sensitive to this issue because you or people you know make their livelihood from within this industry. I can sympathize with that. There lies our the basis of a good debate. Or perhaps it's pure politics. Not enough hours in the day to talk til we're all blu in the face. We ca agree that wet fix what's broken and live long and prosper like the great pointy eared one said. The Vulcan had it right, for the most part.

In the meantime, eat all your vegetables and respect your elders and tell your kids you love them... even if they give you grief, they're still learning, just like you and me:).

Much Love,
Steve Augeri

  1. so glad to see more and more people getting concerned and paying attention to this stuff, steve...i have long been interested in issues of thie type (much to my frustration sometimes)
we did not know about this show.. but we WILL watch it when it airs again- i have heard about this before tho...to my mind this is just one more mistake humans have made in the name of profits...like the disaster in the gulf-it is inconceivable to me that you could have a technology in place like that with NO technology or 'plan' to troubleshoot it...what does this say about the powers that be? are they stupid or greedy or both? or just don't care about the 'masses'...what is so frustrating and upsetting is that these things CAN be fixed but no one is doing it...there is so much politics involved in all of this..and not just with power supply but our food, water, the unnecessary drugs that are given to people, the chemicals everywhere that 'we' use day to day...the general population does not pay attention for many reasons, perhaps the biggest being that they TRUST that the things we are supplied with are safe for us- and so don't even give it a thought..why would anyone sell us or give us unsafe items we use everyday?? i don't think the general population is that greedy and so we just trust..
after my mom-who was about as clean-living as one could imagine- died of cancer almost 30 years ago..i made it my mission to find out WHY people get sick..HOW they get sick...and so my first investigation led me to another and another in a long chain of books, papers, many many of them 'underground', seminars, and getting in contact with those small few who had the information or were looking for it...and this grew from learning about diet to the troubled environment...it took al gore 30 years to get anyone to listen to him and he has finally made some impact...how sad is it that it took that long?
it is all connected...and it is sad and maddening...and there are still SO many who need to be informed...if you want to be connected to one source (there are many) which is good and trustworthy and convenient please visit mercola.com...you can sign up for a newsletter which is free and keeps you informed of all of this type of stuff- from health issues to environment and how it is all connected...dr joseph mercola is an amazing person who has redirected his life to help the masses be informed and guide them in ways to 'live long and prosper' ;-)
sorry for the rant...i get fired up by this stuff for so many reasons but mostly because i have lost so many of my family and friends to unnecessary disease...and so much of that has been by exposure to nothing more than what we consider 'life'...thank you SO much for posting about that show...it is important for people to have this information :)

  3. hi steve
seems noone pays much attention to the enviroment
would love to see the documentary
    we dont get hbo
i think the politicians need to apend more time
looking into the enviroment and the wildlife and animals
and how to preserve our natural resources
i think as consumers we need to be informed
as to what we are eating and where it comes from
very scarey what happens and what we dont know/
